Something that WWE fans have been complaining about for a while now is that promos from Superstars sound too scripted.
We have a rumor to pass your way about WWE potentially making changes to their guidelines for promos.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), WWE gave three Superstars some added freedom in their promos on RAW this week. Here is what he wrote:
Bayley, [Sasha] Banks and [Rey] Mysterio’s promos on Raw were all done without being scripted word-for-word, basically the old bullet points style and going for it. There is a movement to try and do more of that going forward, similar to the leeway that Owens (and I believe Bryan but that hasn’t been told to me directly) get on Smackdown and why his promos, if not both of theirs, come off better than almost anyone.
My Take: Hopefully more Superstars get the chance to cut less scripted promos on RAW and Smackdown. I think that it will definitely help make things feel more organic.
