Rumor On A Big Change That Could Be Coming When Smackdown Moves Over To FOX

Smackdown Live will be moving over to FOX in October. There have been plenty of rumors over the past few months about changes that could be coming to the brand when it switches networks.

One of these rumors was Smackdown moving more into a sporting direction, with less focus on comedy. Another rumor was that WWE could be moving back to a two-man announce team.

We have another rumor to now pass your way. This time, about the length of the show.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), there has been a lot of talk as of late about potentially adding a third hour to Smackdown.

The idea would be that WWE is already filming a third hour anyways on Tuesday night’s for 205 Live. Since the show hasn’t been a runaway success for WWE, they could decide to just do an extra hour of Smackdown instead on FOX Sports 1. The company would reportedly gain upwards of $50,000,000 a year from FOX if they did figure out that extra hour.

This isn’t confirmed yet but something that is being really talked about backstage. With FOX Sports 1 losing out on the deal with the UFC, they could look for extra WWE programming to fill that void.

Would you be down for a third hour hour of Smackdown if it happens? Let me know in the comment section below.
