WWE Money in the Bank will take place on June 19th 2016. The event is known for the ladder match where the person who grabs the Money In The Bank Briefcase guarantees themselves a WWE Heavyweight Championship shot.
The rumor of the day is that the WWE is considering a Women’s Money In The Bank Match at the event, something that WWE fans have been requesting.
Dave Meltzer on the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio says that he has heard talk about the WWE implementing it:
“I’ve heard talk. I don’t know that it’s going to happen, I hope if they do it, that they don’t do a ladder match. I just feel that people would get hurt. Maybe do an elimination match. But then if you don’t do the ladder match, then it makes it secondary, so you’re kind of screwed.I think that there should be a women’s Money in the Bank match, for sure. But the ladder aspect … I’m just not comfortable with it, because I feel that people would get hurt” (Source: F4WOnline).
There is only talk, which means this is nothing more than a rumor for now. Happy to know that the idea is at least being floated out by the WWE as a possibility. I would certainly like a Money in the Bank briefcase that similar to the men, would allow any female to cash in a WWE Women’s Championship shot.
I think it would be a really great thing for the women and could be something unique.
