On Raw and Smackdown Live this week, fans saw 5 new female talents get called up from NXT. On RAW, Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose appeared alongside Paige to make their mark on the RAW Women’s division. On Smackdown Live, the trio of Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan & Liv Morgan made a similar impact, attacking most of the Women’s division.
Speculation was flying after all of the new additions to both Women’s divisions. Why did WWE decide to call up so many female wrestlers at one time?
A new report from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reveals the reason behind all of the female call ups.
According to Satin, Vince McMahon made the decision after the Mae Young Classic because he felt like both Women’s divisions were getting stale.
Mandy Rose was apparently the first name suggested and there have been creative pitches for her debut in the past.
There was a lot of speculation that this influx of Women’s talent could mean a Royal Rumble match for the ladies of WWE. Satin says that he hasn’t heard of a Royal Rumble match being in the works at the moment.
