Brock Lesnar won the vacant WWE Universal Championship at the Crown Jewel event a few weeks ago. His next match will be against Braun Strowman at the Royal Rumble. That is, of course, if Strowman beats Baron Corbin at TLC.
So how about the plans for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 35?
Dave Meltzer provided an update in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here).
According to Dave, the current plan for the Universal Championship match at Wrestlemania 35 is Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins.
Meltzer says that the feud between Rollins and Lesnar is going to play off Roman Reigns in some way. It is expected that Reigns’ name (and illness) will be brought up in the storyline in some capacity.
Also, Meltzer says that he hasn’t been told Lesnar will be pinning Strowman again. Take that as you will as it could mean their match at the Rumble won’t even take place (that is only speculation from us though).
How would you feel about Seth vs Brock at Wrestlemania 35? They have some unfinished business after Seth cashed in on Brock at Wrestlemania 31. Could make for a fun storyline build.
