There have been a lot of firsts for the WWE Women’s division over the past year. This includes the first all-Women’s PPV event at WWE Evolution. It also includes the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber matches.
According to a new report, WWE is currently discussing another first for the Women’s division.
This time, a tournament concept could be coming for the division.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), WWE is currently discussing a potential ‘Queen of the Ring’ tournament. This would be for the Women of the WWE main roster.
This would be similar to what WWE used to do with the ‘King of the Ring’ tournament for so many years.
As of right now, this is just an idea being discussed. Meltzer says that WWE is currently tossing around ideas for their second all-Women’s PPV event next year. This seems likely since WWE Evolution was such a success.
