As you have likely heard by now, Smackdown Live will be moving over to FOX in 2019. The show will be moving from Tuesday to Friday nights and will debut on October 4th, 2019.
Last month, there was a report that suggested executives at FOX would like for Smackdown to have more of a sports-centered feel when it switches over to their network. This would mean less comedy and pushing it in more of a sports direction.
According to a new report, they have another request for Smackdown.
Wrestling INC is reporting that FOX wants Ronda Rousey on the Smackdown roster in 2019.
The feel from FOX is that Ronda’s background in MMA, her popularity and credibility as an athlete will be major selling points to help promote the show.
If this happens, Rousey would be one of the top stars on Smackdown and would do cross-promotional work with some of FOX’s other programs.
