Report On A Big Scheduling Conflict With WWE’s Upcoming Saudi Arabia Events

WWE has run a few PPV events in Saudi Arabia over the past few years. This includes the recent WWE Super Showdown event that took place a few weeks ago. Reports suggest that WWE will be running two of these shows, per year, for the next decade.

The next PPV in Saudi Arabia is scheduled for November 1st. According to a report from Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), WWE is trying to figure out a scheduling issue with the show.

This scheduling issue could affect all future shows in the country. Here is what Meltzer wrote about the next PPV in Saudi Arabia:

A note that hasn’t been brought up regarding the Saudi Arabia shows going forward is that Saudi Arabia has asked for date on Fridays, and WWE starting in October has FOX on Fridays. Right now for 11/1, a listing for a FOX show from Newark, NJ and a show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and King Saad University Stadium. So that would either mean split crews or they’d have to change the Saudi date

My Take: This is definitely something that I didn’t even think about. I would HATE it if we got the PPV in Saudi Arabia in the afternoon, followed by an episode of Smackdown. It would just be too much wrestling but that might be me. Ideally, Saudi Arabia agrees to change the date of their show to the weekend or something moving forward.
