Seth Rollins Curb Stomp. Seth used this as his finisher until last year when he switched to the Pedigree.
The Seth Rollins Curb Stomp was one of my favorite finishing moves in the WWE. In 2015 it shocked fans when Seth stopped using the move and started using the pedigree that was made famous by Triple H. We never really got an official answer as to why the move was banned but most thought it was because of a concussion risks for talent as it looked like the receivers head was vulnerable. It looks like we finally have an official answer and that is not the case.
Seth was recently on the Talk is Jericho podcast hosted by Chris Jericho. During the interview he spoke about a wide variety of topics. One of the most intriguing topics was why his finishing move, the Curb Stomp was banned. According to Seth himself, the move was banned because Vince didn’t want one of his top guys using such a dangerous looking move. Along with having a violent name, the move would be easily duplicated by children who would stomp their buddies heads trying to imitate Seth. The move was NOT banned because of concussion risk that was widely speculated, the move was safe to give and receive. Seth says he fought the decision a lot and was not happy with having to get rid of it.
I understand that the Seth Rollins Curb Stomp is a very violent sounding and looking move. I just think there are a ton of moves that could be dangerous if kids choose to replicate them. It is a shame because it was my persona favorite finisher until it got banned as it just looked so great.
Let us know what you think about the Seth Rollins Curb Stomp getting banned and the reason behind it. Should he be allowed to use it? Let us know in the comment section below!
I think it was banned because of concussion issues. They could’ve just changed the name. Didnt they change the Attitude Adjustment from being called “F(uck) U”?
The Curb Stomp is one of those moves that looks easy to do (and is easy)…the hard part is doing it safely. I can understand WWE erring on the side of caution to avoid the lawsuits of bad publicity of kids trying it at home.
Also, a lot of people associate “curb stomp” with a disturbing scene in American History X.
watch American History X, then see if you understand why it was banned
that’s the reason. I mentioned it quite a while back, and it’s even become a meme since meme’s became popular. too many overtones for vince’s liking.
