Reason Why Brock Lesnar Is NOT Getting Suspended By The WWE After USADA Violation

Brock Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in convincing fashion. A couple days later we found out that Brock had been notified of a potential USADA violation. Many WWE fans wondered how this would impact Summerslam as Lesnar is suppose to take on Randy Orton at the event in August. Will the WWE suspend him to show that their wellness policy is as strong as it says it is?

According to a report from TMZ, the reason Brock Lesnar is not getting suspended by the WWE is because he is a part-time performer. According to their report with a WWE official, the WWE doesn’t test their part-time performers for wellness policy violations. Brock only wrestlers a handful of times per year and therefore doesn’t have the same testing that the stars who work 300 days do.

In the WWE’s wellness policy it states that:

“This Policy, as it may be amended from time to time, is applicable to and binding upon all WWE Talent under contract to WWE who regularly perform in-ring services as a professional sports entertainer (“WWE Talent”)” (Source: WWE Wellness Policy).

Key word here is obviously regularly.

I see both sides of the argument here. The WWE wellness policy was put into place for their talent who work 300 days a year to avoid things like early death and problems later in life. Why should the WWE test Brock Lesnar who comes in once every couple months? Want to suspend him for 30 days? Fine he just doesn’t show up on WWE TV for another month and likely doesn’t care.

On the other hand it kind of hurts the legitimacy of the policy to not test him. Seems unfair to the talent who work 300 days a year and are tested regularly. And then Brock Lesnar can show up and do what he wants.

  1. I’m more concerned with the fact that Brock is given such high billing in spite of not being able to put on a decent match.

“16 German suplexes!!!” is really just another way of saying “Lesnar has less than five moves of doom.” As much as he’s getting paid, as much as he’s hyped, WWE should demand a bit more effort from Lesnar.

    • Finally! Somebody who’s not in Brock Lesnar’s jock strap. The double standard of WWE fans is so blatant; John Cena uses more than a couple dozen moves & holds in matches but people talk about his “5 Moves Of Doom”. Lesnar uses less than 5 TOTAL different moves and holds in all of his matches but he’s just the greatest thing they’ve ever seen. Ugh!

      • Last time I checked some Brock matches only really consist of two actual moves. The F-5 and the german suplex. He is sooooooo boring. I don’t feel like he even really EARNED the right to be a part timer. I understand he sells tickets but come on man.

    • Wooooooooo! I’m really glad to see/hear that I’m not the only one who is sick of Broooooooock Lesssssnaaaaar! I liked him back in the early 90s when he performed more than 3 moves and I’ve said it a million times…how can it be suplex city when he only does one suplex 16 times? Scott Steiner (like him or hate him) would perform 6-7 different suplexes in one single match. That would be “Suplex City” to me. This Bork Laser nonsense has run it’s course for me. I don’t think the WWE even needs his ratings anymore but I could be wrong about that.

Btw…H.P. Loveshaft name makes me laugh every time I see it. 😉

  2. I “get” where the WWE is coming from with saying he is excluded because he’s part time, but in all honesty I think it’s BS. How unfair to every other person on that roster that has to be tested? How unfair to Roman who just finished a 30 day suspension and is now getting squashed and punished on screen? Brock was using steroids and was popped for drugs that are used by athletes coming off of a cycle, yet he’s going to be in a hugely billed match at SummerSlam and face no punishment and be pushed in front of all of us like he’s an unbeatable beast? No, thank you.

I wasn’t a fan before and I’m even less of a fan now. Watching his 18 suplexes and a F5 for the win is SO boring. I’m really disappointed in the WWE. I only hope the crowd in NY gives us all good, loud, solid “Steroid City” chant….

  3. So if i’m a full timer working for wwe and i’m fighting somebody that juices I’d be worried for my own safety but apparently wwe doesn’t care about that. That’s not right. Everybody should be tested that is wrestling.

  4. Has no one really thought about the fact that Billy Gunn failed a drug test related to a power lifting contest and he was terminated from the WWE? He wasn’t even an active competitor at the time. He was a trainer in NXT. Yet Brock Lesnar an ACTIVE competitor. (Semi-active or not he wrestles on T.V.)

    • Yeup. I did too. WWE bias towards top talent because of the ratings they bring. That’s what this is and it’s unfortunate.
