A major name that doesn’t currently have a Wrestlemania match is Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon. He has stepped inside the ring for the past two Wrestlemania events.
According to a new report, it looks like he could be stepping into the ring again for Wrestlemania 34 in New Orleans.
On the latest Backstage in WWE podcast, Brad Shepard had some interesting comments about Shane and a potential match starting to build for him soon.
Shepard says that it sounds like Shane’s opponent will be Dolph Ziggler at the event. Here are some quotes (via Ringside News):
“It looks like plans have recently changed and now Shane McMahon’s match, it sounds like his opponent will be Dolph Ziggler. From what I’ve been told, that’s what they are looking to do.
Shane has got to have his match and Dolph has never had a singles match at WrestleMania. It will be a good match, that’s fine. Not everything I am dying to see but.. That will be something to watch for if they do go with that — we should start seeing that build soon.”
