Seth Rollins recently reunited with his former Shield brother: Dean Ambrose. The two won the RAW Tag Team Championships at Summerslam in their first match. The reunion storyline between Ambrose and Rollins has arguably been one of the best parts of RAW for the past month or so.
It turns out that the reunion was not a long-term plan by WWE.
Seth was recently a guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast. During the podcast, he shared the original plans for him prior to reuniting with Dean.
It turns out that the storyline between Seth and Bray Wyatt was supposed to continue for a couple more Pay-Per-Views. Bray defeated Seth at ‘Great Balls of Fire’ and their feud fizzled out. Here is what Seth said on the podcast about the plans being scrapped:
“I believe what the plan was for me and Bray Wyatt to go a few pay-per-views. And them, whatever happened, happened. Something changed and they shuffled the deck and they ended up having to reposition, which, actually, worked out much better for me, in my personal opinion”
Pretty happy to hear that WWE went with the Ambrose-Rollins storyline instead of a few more months of Wyatt-Rollins. Seems like they made the right choice.
