Ember Moon vs Asuka- NXT Woman’s Title Match
Prediction: Asuka
Result: Asuka retains after a kick to head
Grade: B-
Thoughts: And continuing the trend of every match on this show being great, the Woman’s title match was fantastic. The storytelling on show here was incredible; after Asuka being cocky the entire time going into this match, she had to end up cheating in order to defeat Ember Moon after she was brought to her limit.
It’s great now that the women’s division has become the place for hard-hitting action. The brutal stiff shots, the great spots and a crowd that was hugely into it- all capped off with, what looks like, the cementing of a true heel turn for Asuka. Lovely.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Bobby Roode- NXT Title Match
Prediction: Bobby Roode
Result: Roode retains through pinfall
Grade: C+
Thoughts: Wow there was a lot of rest holds eh? I do feel sorry for these two guys as they had to follow a fantastic show overall but…it just wasn’t hugely interesting. There weren’t any huge spots to talk about throughout the match itself apart from the finish and the crowd were exhausted from the rest of the show. Maybe I’m alone in this? I don’t know I just didn’t find it as interesting or captivating as the rest of the show had done before it.
The last 5 minutes were fantastic but the rest of the match wasn’t up to the same standard. A less exciting note to the end of the show but a fantastic Takeover as a whole. Huge well done to literally everyone involved with tonight’s show. And, hopefully…we hear that fantastic violin on Monday Night/Tuesday.

Tag match was the best. I was heavily invested and actually kept yelling and cheering. Nakamura vs Roode was great. They were a better pairing than I thought Nakamura vs Joe would be. I would give it a b. Sanity match was fun. Black vs Cien was good, but odd having two heels face off. Asuka really needs to make a sadistic heel turn, not a gray area or coward heel. Ember needs more time to grow. A feud with Cross would be perfect.
