News broke on Monday night that Asuka suffered an injury scare at a WWE live event. Luckily, it appears as if Asuka avoided anything serious.
She ended up appearing the next night on Smackdown, attacking both Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in a quick segment.
We have a note to pass your way on the original plans for Asuka on Smackdown that were scrapped.
According to John Pollock of POST Wrestling, Asuka was originally scheduled for a match on the episode.
Asuka was supposed to face off against Sonya Deville. After the injury scare, WWE changed the plans. Instead, Mandy Rose defeated Naomi in about a minute.
My Take: This makes sense why we got the random squash match between Mandy and Naomi. That didn’t make much sense. Looks like they were protecting Asuka before Fastlane, which seems smart.
On a related note, check out my prediction for Asuka’s match at Wrestlemania 36.
