A big topic of conversation heading into WWE Stomping Grounds was the low ticket sales. Despite the smaller crowd, the fans ended up being loud for most of the PPV.
We have a few more details to pass your way about the attendance at Stomping Grounds.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), the attendance for the event was around 6000 people.
Meltzer noted that the actual paid attendance number was more like 4,000 – 4,500 fans. He says there were plenty of comped tickets and a lot of 2 for 1 deals that were offered. This number is particularly bad considering the arena holds about 18,000 people.
Here is a photo that shows a large chunk of the arena curtained off:
Despite the small number, the crowd was really vocal and energetic for most of the show. They deserve some credit.
