Former WWE Superstar Mike Knox was recently a guest on the Pancakes and Powerslams Show. Knox spoke about his career at length during the interview. This includes when he was a member of WWE’s ECW brand from 2006-2008.
An interesting part of the podcast was when Knox shared what WWE producer Arn Anderson told him before his match at ECW’s December To Dismember event back in 2006.
For those who don’t remember, Knox and Kelly Kelly faced off against Ariel and Kevin Thorn at the event. The match went for just over 7 minutes, with Ariel and Thorn winning.
Here is the story from Knox (h/t to Wrestling INC for the quotes):
“We were sitting there and I was taking over the match, and Arn [Anderson] came up and was like, ‘listen, it doesn’t matter what you guys do. Nobody’s gonna be watching you. You gotta make sure the girls know what they need to do, and it really doesn’t matter what you guys do out there, nobody is even gonna remember it.’
“So I was like, oh jeez, thanks Arn. Like, one of my childhood heroes. So I looked at Kevin [Thorn], he’s looking at me, and I’m like, dude, let’s show these guys. Let’s get in there and really beat the crap out of each other. We were like, let’s bring it. So, even if nobody else remembers it, we will. So we went out there and we just beat the living crap out of each other.”
