According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Mauro Ranallo and WWE are parting ways with one another.
Here is what Meltzer wrote about Mauro’s decision to leave the company:
Mauro Ranallo and WWE have agreed to terms of his release today and it is expected that it will be announced officially shortly.
Unlike in the past, this departure was not on any negative terms. Ranallo has missed the last few NXT broadcasts due to going back to British Columbia where his mother has been hospitalized. He was looking for a less stressful schedule even though WWE did accommodate him as best they could as he had been doing the shows from a home studio in Santa Monica, California, where he lives, as opposed to flying into Orlando each week since the start of the pandemic.
Meltzer also added a quote from Ranallo himself about his departure. Here is what he said:
“I appreciate the opportunity I had to realize my childhood dream of working in sports entertainment, and I wish WWE well in the future. Now I want to direct my focus and devote my time to my other projects and to my mental health charitable activities and the well-being of my mother and myself,”
