Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler told an interesting story on his podcast: Dinner With The King from the Royal Rumble this past weekend. Lawler was one of the hosts of the kickoff show and he also called the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
When Lawler first arrived at the building, he says that he ran into Mark Henry backstage. Henry told Lawler that: “I think me and you are gonna have to fight”.
So what was it about?
Henry confronted Lawler because of his apparent ‘beef’ with Peter Rosenberg. Henry says that he was the one who got Peter hired by WWE and he is a close friend of his. Rosenberg thought that Lawler didn’t like him.
Lawler responded to Henry by saying that he doesn’t have any issues with Peter and that he doesn’t really know him that well. Lawler also says that he thinks Rosenberg took exception to him mispronouncing his name a few times.
