Rey Mysterio has made a few appearances for WWE over the past year. This included participating in both the Royal Rumble match back in January and the Greatest Royal Rumble match in April. It was expected that Rey was going to sign with WWE after both of these matches but it never happened.
We have a big update to pass your way about Rey’s future.
According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Rey Mysterio has finally signed a contract to return to WWE.
Johnson says that Rey’s new contract with WWE is for 2 years. According to the report, Rey originally wanted only an 18-month contract but finally agreed to the 2-year term that WWE wanted.
There is also a clause in the contract that Rey can give his release notice at the 18-month mark.
Johnson says that Rey is currently preparing for his return. WWE is now just waiting to find the right place to put him into their storylines.
Seems like we should expect to see Rey Mysterio on RAW or Smackdown very soon!
