When you mention the name Kurt Angle, many fans want to know when he is returning to the WWE. Angle left the in 2006 and has spent the majority of his time wrestling for TNA. It was clear that Kurt Angle and the WWE (as well as Triple H) didn’t leave on the best of terms and it seems like Kurt wants to mend those bridges before he hangs up the boots for good. On a recent episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand podcast, Angle spoke about the last time he had spoken to Triple H and the closure he wants to achieve before he officially retires.
Angle on the last time he spoke to triple H.
“I haven’t spoken to Triple H up until this day since I left WWE. My manager had a call with him about a year and a half ago and we were going to have a meeting. That meeting got canceled. I have to attribute that to my 4 DUIs in 5 years. I don’t blame WWE for not want to do business with somebody that is that careless. Now I’ve been clean and sober for 3 years, but, you have to earn your trust back. I understand that “(Source: Vince Russo: The Brand).
There were reports earlier that Kurt Angle met with Triple H a couple months ago, but it looks like that isn’t true.
Angle on wanting closure with the WWE.
“It’s not about even wrestling for the WWE again, it’s just having closure. Being able to have that meeting with Vince where everything is good, it’s water under the bridge and we’re good to go (Source: Vince Russo: The Brand).
I really hope the WWE and Kurt can work it out and let him have one more small run. We have already reported about Kurt Angle wanting to work with American Alpha and I think it would make perfect sense.
Let us know if you see Angle in the WWE before he officially retires! I personally would love it, how about you!?
Do people actually want to see him back? This is what I dont understand. If he never would’ve left and continued to wrestle in the WWE then the WWE Universe wouldnt even be able to stand him anymore. They would probably be chanting “please retire.”
But since he’s been gone 10 years, they want him back. WWE Universe will do him like they currently do the Dudley Boys. Get their initial nostalgia, then ignore him 2 weeks later.
I never watched him in TNA but Im sure he’s not the technical wrestler he was in the early 2000’s.
