Kurt Angle Has A Challenge For Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor’s comments last week about pro-wrestlers made headlines in both the Mixed Martial Arts and Wrestling worlds. McGregor called out the current WWE roster for being P****** and saying he would whoop all of them. This angered a majority of pro-wrestlers who took the comments to heart. Wrestling legend Kurt Angle was one of those who took a lot of exception to Conor’s comments.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Angle set out a challenge to McGregor and Dana White, who he says don’t respect the pro-wrestling business:

“I’d like to challenge Conor. Take five bumps with me in the ring. Just five bumps. When I did that for the first time, I took three and said, ‘F— this, I’m quitting.’ I quit for a couple days and my manager talked me into going back. I know how Dana White and Conor continue to bash the business, but I challenge either of them to get in the ring with me and take five bumps. Once they do, they’ll realize how tough it is–and that’s not even a fraction of what it takes to be a pro wrestler” (Source: SI).

Angle also says if he was 5 years younger he would take McGregor in a fight:

“I’d take him down, then ground and pound him until I knocked him out. Conor is a polished fighter, but with my size, I would overpower him. It wouldn’t be that difficult for me” (Source: SI).

McGregor is doing what he does best and selling his fight (at UFC 202 against Nate Diaz). Smart promotion to keep his name in the headlines. We have seen a lot of WWE stars take his comments personally and respond on social media. Guys like Roman Reigns, Sheamus and Ric Flair.
