Kevin Owens Responds To Criticism From Jim Cornette and Vince Russo

Kevin Owens is the new WWE Universal Champion. After wrestling for over 15 years, he has finally hit the pinnacle of his profession and is the top guy on the RAW brand. In a recent interview with Main Event Radio, Owens spoke on a wide variety of topics. During the interview, he gave his thoughts on Jim Cornette and Vince Russo, two names who have been harsh critics of his throughout his career.

Owens thoughts on Jim Cornette:

“Jim Cornette and I have never really seen eye to eye. Ultimately, he knew that I could make it if I wanted to but he just didn’t think I had the right attitude. But that’s just because the way he and I saw things differently. He’s been saying that he thinks that I must have changed the way I see things because now I have success and it must be because I changed things. But it’s not; now I just work with people who I agree with more. The people who I work with now have the same vision that I do of what professional wrestling should be and what it is now. Jim and I just didn’t share that vision” (Source: Main Event Radio).

Owens responds to Russo, who recently said him winning the WWE Universal Title was rock bottom for professional wrestling:

“As far as Vince Russo is concerned, I don’t think he means a single word of what he says. I think he says all of it to get attention. I think he knows how good I am and that me being the champion is a great move, he’s just trying to rile people up” (Source: Main Event Radio).

  1. Well, this riled me up. Owners is a great heel and he is so entertaining in the ring. He has different moves, different wrestling style, and that makes him interesting to see. Everything his matches come on l, I NEVER skip through nor do I ever use his matches as a “break time.” There are some matches I will skip through but never kevin. I just hope they don’t do with him, what they did with rollins. That would kill kevins character in my opinion. He needs to stand on his own, not behind authority or triple H
