Jonathan Coachman was on RAW prior to WrestleMania 32.
You might remember Jonathan Coachman aka ‘the Coach’ from his time in the WWE from 1999-2008. He left the company to work for ESPN which he says is his dream job. The Coach was in the building with ESPN covering WrestleMania 32 for the network. He thinks that Shane McMahon vs the Undertaker should have went on last instead of Roman Reigns vs Triple H. He says it reminded him of WrestleMania X8 where Chris Jericho and Triple H were forced to follow the incredible match between the Rock and Hulk Hogan.
Here is his full comment from the Ross Report podcast with JR:
“The one thing I would have changed, and [Ross] will remember this, when [The] Rock and [Hulk] Hogan finally met in Toronto [Canada], and that was the year they decided that the championship was going to mean everything. And so, Triple H and [Chris] Jericho went after that match. Such a mistake! That match was epic. It was 45 minutes of brilliance and the play-by-play was brilliant. And I thought, ‘this is going to be Toronto all over again.’ That’s what it felt like to me. People want to see Shane jump off the cage or jump off the cell and then go through the table and have that look from Taker be [the last image before going] off the air” (Source: The Ross Report/ H/T: WrestlingInc).
I think I agree with the Coach. It would have been pretty epic if WrestleMania 32 closed without us knowing if Shane McMahon was still alive after that jump off the cell onto the Undertaker. I can understand why the WWE wanted their World Title to close the show though.
