Jim Ross Speaks On Corey Graves’ Future As A WWE Commentator, The Advice He Gave Him

Since Corey Graves was forced to retire from his in-ring career, he has made a splash as the voice of NXT and on the RAW and WWE PPV pre-shows. He seems to have been very well received for his performance so far as a WWE commentator. Legendary announcer Jim Ross in a recent interview with Cageside Seats, spoke highly about Corey Graves and the advice he gave him. Anytime JR gives you advice, you listen in the world of commentating!

Here is what JR said about Corey Graves:

“I like him. I think he’s going to do real well. … He’ll have a longer career as a broadcaster than he ever [would have] as a wrestler. I’ve talked to him about it … the opportunity you have now, attack it with the same passion you did the wrestling drills and all that, and become a broadcaster. Don’t become an ex-wrestler trying to be a broadcaster. Forget the ex-wrestler stuff. Become a broadcaster and use the wrestling expertise that you’ve learned to embellish that.” (Source: Cageside Seats)

IWN POV: I think Corey Graves has a bright future as a commentator. I really enjoy his work in NXT and during the pre-shows. He seems to have a great knack for it so far from what I have seen. High praise from the legend Jim Ross and great advice that he gave him. I wonder what his future holds and if he will get a chance on Smackdown or something else moving forward. I personally would love a future announce team of Mauro Ranallo and Corey Graves. I think both guys are very talented at what they do!

Let me know your thoughts on the advice that JR gave Corey Graves. Also what is your opinion on Graves and his future as a WWE commentator. Leave me a comment!
