James Ellsworth Shares His Experience Meeting Vince McMahon, How WWE Portrays ‘Jobbers’

James Ellsworth has taken over the wrestling world. You first might have recognized him from RAW a couple of weeks ago where he was squashed by Braun Strowman. For some reason he just clicked with fans as #SignJamesEllsworth started gaining some traction. Most recently, he appeared on Smackdown where he was revealed as AJ Styles’ mystery partner. He was taken out by the Miz prior to the match but he still got another shot on WWE TV!

James Ellsworth recently participated in a reddit AMA (ask me anything). He shared the experience of meeting Vince and also the perception of ‘jobbers’ when they leave the WWE.

James Ellsworth shares his experience of meeting  Vince McMahon:

“I have seen Vince numerous times. The first time I talked to him was after the Strowman match. One of the agents told me he wanted to see me. He extended his hand and said, “you killed it, kid.” Meant a lot to me. I’ve also meant HHH numerous times. I got lucky that the fans made me so popular, and when I saw Vince at Backlash he said, “Hey Ellsworth!” Growing up I idolized him, so this whole experience has just been so cool” (Source: Reddit).

He was asked if being a jobber on WWE TV hurts your credibility on the independent scene:

“No, because number one, we’re getting national publicity from the biggest wrestling company in the world. We haven’t really earned being there – I have been wrestling 14 years and I don’t look like those guys. So no, it doesn’t hurt our reputation. Plus, I did not expect all the social media stuff to blow up, so this was all really unexpected for me” (Source: Reddit).
