Edge returning to the ring for WWE has been a rumor for a while now. This comes after he speared Elias at the Summerslam PPV a few months ago. This was the first time that Edge has done anything physical on WWE television since he retired.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider was recently asked his thoughts on the rumors of Edge returning to the ring. Johnson provided a pretty interesting answer that will definitely fuel the rumor mill.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
I do. We’ve heard that Edge signed a new deal with WWE that has a pretty nice upside. We also reported a few months ago he was in Pittsburgh for WWE business and that’s where WWE Wellness Policy head Dr. Joseph Maroon is headquartered. My gut feeling is we’ll see Edge in the Royal Rumble as a surprise and possibly even see him do a few matches over the next few years on major events.
He has denied he’s doing anything, but the talk has persisted internally that he’s on the way back to the ring and I do believe there is something to it. We will see if I am right soon enough. .
My Take:
- Edge coming back would be amazing. If that is the case, we can likely expect him to be involved in a big match at Wrestlemania 36. We will have to wait and see but this definitely has me excited.
