Injury Updates To Samoa Joe And Kevin Owens

It was announced by WWE on January 9th that Samoa Joe had suffered a foot injury. This was bad timing considering that Joe had just declared for the 2018 Royal Rumble match.

We have an update on the injury and return of Joe (as well as Kevin Owens).

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), it is looking like the injury will force Joe to miss more than just a few weeks. As a result, Joe will be missing the Royal Rumble match.

The report also says that Joe has been pulled from the advertisements for WWE live events until mid-March. Joe has been replaced by the Miz on these live events.

As for Kevin Owens, you may have heard the rumblings that he was dealing with an injury. The Observer says that it is described as a “nagging injury that comes and goes”.

The good news is that it doesn’t appear like it is anything serious and won’t cause him to miss the Rumble. Owens is scheduled to team with Sami Zayn in a handicap match against AJ Styles for the WWE Title.
