7 Small Changes That Would Improve WWE Television

3) Do A Better Job Of Protecting Your Champions

Another small change that I would make is for WWE to better protect their Champions.

How often do we see the Champion losing a non-title match on RAW to set up the rematch for the Title on PPV? It feels like that happens to almost every Title holder and I hate it.

I would limit Champions taking losses prior to their Title defenses. To me, that would make these PPV matches mean a lot more. A Champion that hasn’t lost in a few months against a challenger who keeps piling up wins on weekly episodes of RAW.

If WWE does a better job at protecting their Champions, I think that fans will care more about them and their Title reigns.

2) Allow More Freedom For Promos/ Characters

I am not going to say that WWE needs to stop scripting promos completely. I am sure that there is plenty of people on the roster who like having their promos scripted for them. What I am saying is that WWE should give a bit more freedom to Superstars for their promos and characters.

It is hard to invest in characters when we know they are reading from a script. If a Superstars is comfortable with it, I would much rather see them get bullet points from WWE and get some freedom to craft their own promos.

The goal of this is to make Superstars feel more authentic. We want them believing in their words and their characters. From an outside perspective, it seems hard to do that when a writer is fully scripting your words and actions.

I am not saying that they need to go back to the ‘Attitude Era’ and let everyone do what they want. I just feel like Superstars would feel more authentic if they had some more creative freedom.
