One of the biggest mysteries of the Greatest Royal Rumble match was entrant number 7. A large man named Hiroki Sumi appeared to the confusion of many. There wasn’t a lot of information out there when I did an initial Google search. I decided to try and find some more details on him.
So who is Hiroki Sumi?
It turns out that Hiroki Sumi is a 12 year veteran of Sumo Wrestling. He began his career in 2005 using the name Hishofuji.
He even piled up a 22-bout winning streak at one point (h/t to Pro Wrestling Sheet). Hiroki’s profile picture on Twitter is of he and Shinsuke Nakamura. He also posted a photo backstage of he and Mark Henry:
