John Cena and AJ Styles went through one heck of a rivalry in 2016 (and into 2017). They had several good matches but probably none better than the 2017 edition of the Royal Rumble.

AJ Styles vs John Cena for the WWE Championship. The stage was set for a great match and they both delivered. This was of course the match where Cena wins to tie the record of Ric Flair with 16 World Title victories.

A really fun match that went over 24 minutes.

Some fans have criticized the amount of kick-outs from finishers in the match but Meltzer liked it enough to give it a 4.75/5 rating.

Bray Wyatt vs AJ Styles vs Dean Ambrose vs Baron Corbin vs The Miz vs John Cena

WWE Elimination Chamber 2017 (February 12th, 2017)

The Elimination Chamber made it’s return to WWE in 2017. Dean Ambrose faced off against AJ Styles, John Cena, Baron Corbin, The Miz and Bray Wyatt.

The match will be remembered for the title victory of Bray Wyatt but the match itself was a lot of fun. The match went over 34 minutes, but it sure didn’t feel like it with action from bell to bell. Wyatt last eliminated AJ Styles to win his first WWE Championship. It was a great moment and a great match in general.
