Reason #2 – Who’s Next?
This pun is 100% intended, because it is a question that is running rampant through most fans: who’s next for Goldberg if he loses and is still in the WWE after WrestleMania?
In reality, there is really no one unless the WWE wants to book Goldberg against Roman Reigns at a relatively big pay-per-view. This match was teased at the first RAW of 2017, and it could make for an interesting bout thanks to Roman Reigns’s move set. Other than that, there is really no one for Goldberg to face that could be a match that everyone wants to see.
Brock on the other hand, that’s a different story. An opponent that immediately comes to mind is the man that debuted on RAW and attacked Seth Rollins on behalf of Triple H: the “Destroyer,” Samoa Joe. This is truly a clash of the titans bout, and would draw money like you wouldn’t believe. We have no idea how long Lesnar will stay in WWE, so for this match to happen would draw a lot of attention to the product, as well as get loyal NXT fans to see these two men collide.
Some may say that Samoa Joe is too new to the main roster to be put into a title match against Brock Lesnar, and I can agree to a certain extent. My view: they have over a year to start building this match. This could help Samoa Joe get more accustomed to the main roster and groomed to take on “The Beast Incarnate” at next year’s WrestleMania in New Orleans.
All of these matches/ ideas can be set up without the WWE Universal Championship involved. From a storyline perspective, WWE can just use the names of Goldberg and Lesnar to sell their next matches after Wrestlemania 33.
Use the the buttons below for the next reason why we don’t want to see Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Title at Wrestlemania 33.
