Former Tag Team Star Jim Brunzell Reveals Wrestler Pay In The 1980s

Jim Brunzell was recently a guest on the latest episode of the Pancakes and Powerslams Show. Brunzell was best known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation in the 1980s.

Brunzell was a member of “The Killer Bees” tag team alongside B. Brian Blair. They never won tag team gold in the WWF but they did win the Frank Tunney Sr. Memorial Tag Team Tournament in 1987.

During the interview, Brunzell ended up revealing how much money that he made in WWF during the 1980s.

Here is what he said:

“I averaged about 95 to about 110 [thousand]. But we were sort of in the middle… but the payscale, you had no idea what you were making. Nobody knew.

If you happened to be on the undercard with Hulk Hogan, it was gonna be a guaranteed sellout.”

He added that a typical amount of earnings for wrestlers during that time was about $2,500 – $3,500 a week. This was not including big pay-per-views such as WrestleMania and Survivor Series.

On a related note, here is how much Chris Jericho made for his appearance at the Greatest Royal Rumble.
