As we noted before, Finn Balor lost his NXT Championship to Samoa Joe at the NXT Lowell live event on Thursday night. This was shocking as titles don’t usually change hands at live events. Samoa Joe hit the ‘Muscle Buster’ to win the match and the title, ending Finn Balor’s title reign. Finn responded on Twitter after losing his belt, hinting towards a promotion to the WWE main roster.
It was an honor #NXTLowell

It was noted by fans in attendance that Finn was grabbing his ankle after the match and the referee’s used the dreaded X symbol (usually signifying serious injuries). This had many fans thinking that Finn was injured during the match. I am personally not buying it and I think this is the way the WWE is going to bring Finn up to the main roster without holding the belt. There was also a camera crew set up around ringside to film this live event, meaning they were planning for something to happen. From fans in attendance, Balor apparently took a bow and felt like the injury was a work. I think this was a perfect way to protect Finn from losing his title clean and moving him up to the main roster.
It looks like Finn could be joining his old friends in the Bullet Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) very soon on the main roster. It would be absolutely perfect if Finn made his debut at WWE Payback to join his old friends and start this new faction to take over the WWE.
Let us know your thoughts on the title change and a possible Finn call up.
