Early WWE Extreme Rules Main Event Speculation- May 22 2016

WWE Extreme Rules 2016

At the end of WWE Payback, we saw Shane, Stephanie and Vince McMahon make the call that AJ Styles would get an immediate re-match against Roman Reigns for the WWE Heavyweight Championship at WWE Extreme Rules. WWE.com has confirmed that the re-match will be an Extreme Rules match where there will be no count-outs, no disqualification and any weapon (or interference) will be legal.

This had me thinking about what will happen at WWE Extreme Rules in a couple weeks. I think the WWE has set up this match perfectly for something big to happen. A lot of fans speculated (including us) that we might see some sort of debut (Balor) or return (Rollins) at WWE Payback in the main event. This obviously didn’t happen but the WWE made it clear to establish that anything can happen in their next match.

Let’s have some fun and fantasy book for a minute here:

I immediately think that the Usos and Karl Anderson/Luke Gallows will be banned from ringside/interfering in the match. If this is the case, I would expect we see a big return (Rollins or Cena?) Or maybe a debut (Balor?).

Everyone will surely speculate further on the possibility of the WWE forming some sort of Bullet Club type faction with Styles, Anderson, Gallows and Finn Balor potentially involved so a possibility to keep our eyes on.

I think the one thing for sure is that Roman Reigns vs AJ Styles will feature some sort of interference and won’t just be a clean match. It is certainly going to be a fun couple weeks until Extreme Rules to see what happens!

Fantasy book for us how you would write WWE Extreme Rules in the comment section! Or let us know your thoughts on the match itself.

  1. Reagardless of the stipulations, it will be a great match from 2 incredible wrestlers. They had some good chemistry last night.
