The Greatest Royal Rumble event takes place at the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The stadium has a capacity of over 62,000. According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), there are some ticket restrictions for the event.
So what are these restrictions? (It should be noted that these restrictions do not come from WWE but from Saudi Arabia).
– Meltzer says that all of the good seats at the show are being reserved for families. The only possible way you can buy a ticket in most of the stadium is if your family has an (adult) Woman with you.
– Meltzer says that single men are only able to sit far away inside of the stadium (which likely means in the nosebleeds). There were only about 10,000 seats for this group and they sold out quickly. Fans have been vocal about only being able to buy poor seats or not being able to purchase them at all. The feeling is that the crowd won’t be very loud because the vocal fans will be stuck in the furthest away seats.
– You are not allowed to pick your seat at the event. You buy a ticket and are assigned a seat by the government official in charge.
– There were some hardcore fans willing to pay for ringside seats but were unable to. These seats are reserved for the Saudi General Sports Authority members and celebrities.
