Adam ‘Hangman’ Page recently signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). During the rally this past week, Page went face-to-face with Neville, presumably setting up a match between them down the road.
According to a recent report, Page received a strong offer from WWE prior to signing with AEW.
This information comes from Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here).
According to Meltzer, Page was offered “WWE main roster money” to work NXT.
Triple H reportedly worked very hard to try and get Page, the Young Bucks, and Cody Rhodes to sign with WWE. They all ultimately rejected their offers.
Meltzer says that the plan was for Page to be pushed as a top star in NXT if he would have signed.
My Take: Page would have been pretty awesome in NXT. He has a crazy amount of potential and I am sure that he would have thrived. I don’t blame him one bit for staying with the ELITE crew though.
