The big story in the wrestling world at the moment is Chris Jericho competing at Wrestle Kingdom 12. Jericho will be facing off against Kenny Omega in what was a very shocking revelation at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Power Struggle event.
Here are some more details on Jericho working with NJPW and his match against Kenny.
According to ProWrestling.com, Jericho has been in talks to appear at Wrestle Kingdom for quite some time. Plans for Jericho vs Omega have reportedly been in place since August.
For those wondering, Jericho is a free agent and doesn’t have a contract with WWE:

Also, a potential factor in Jericho wanting to go outside of WWE might have to do with his upcoming cruise: “Chris Jericho’s Rock-n-Wrestling Rager at Sea”. Jericho revealed on the ‘Killing the Town’ podcast that he is financially responsible for the project and went to Vince McMahon and Triple H to see if he could use some NXT talent. They said no after a few months of talk.
Jericho recently said he approached WWE/HHH about having NXT on his cruise. Was turned down. Says they “don’t play well with others.”
Also noted that he’s financially responsible for the cruise.
