Dean Ambrose and Renee Young were recently interviewed by Vegas Seven. They spoke on a wide variety of topics surrounding their careers in WWE and their relationship outside of it. One of the highlights was when Ambrose was asked his feelings about people who call wrestling ‘fake’.
Fans of the wrestling business know that the wrestler’s put their bodies through hell in order to entertain us. The outside perception of some people is still that the wrestling business is ‘phony’.
Here is what Ambrose had to say about fans that call wrestling fake:
Like Us On Facebook:
“We let everybody go behind the scenes and we make no effort anymore as a business to make it seem real. I don’t take myself too seriously. It’s 2017, [and] if you say wrestling’s fake, I’m not gonna flip out or whatever—you’re just uninformed”
He continued:
“To me, there’s nothing fake about the miles that I’ve put on my body or the actual work that goes into perfecting this as a craft. I put in the same hours to get good at this as a surgeon who went to college. It’s just a much less important job in the realm of society. But as far as the man-hours you put in, it’s hard to do. And there’s nothing fake about the injuries, the risk and how dangerous this is. It’s extremely dangerous. But I won’t be offended by [the comments]; people say it all the time”
