Daniel Bryan was recently interviewed by the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast. During the interview he spoke on a wide variety of topics. One of the most interesting parts was when the Smackdown Live General Manager and host of Talking Smack was discussing WWE stars of today and their freedom on the microphone.
Bryan has been speaking his mind on Talking Smack each week. He has even mentioned TNA in the past on WWE programming in reference to Mick Foley.
Daniel On WWE being upset with him over some of the stuff that he says on Talking Smack:
“Sometimes, yeah. I mean, sometimes, I just say things and then, sometimes in my earpiece it’s like, ‘why are you saying that?’ And then, it’s like, ‘oh’.”
On WWE stars not being able to speak their minds anymore:
“The reason why guys could do that before, like, say in The Attitude Era, because it’s like, ‘yeah, fire me – I’ll go to WCW’ or in The Territory Era, ‘yeah, fire me – I’ll go to a million different places,’ right? Now, ‘fire me – actually, please don’t fire me.’ Literally, I’ve been doing this since I was 18 [years old]. I don’t know how to do anything else”

Let us know what you think in the comment section below. Should WWE allow their stars to speak their minds more often or go off script? Seems like Bryan seems to think that WWE is holding guys back and it is hard to disagree with him.
