Daniel Bryan Explains Why WWE Creative Is Failing Right Now

On this weeks episode of Talking Smack, Daniel Bryan discussed Survivor Series and the match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. Bryan had some interesting comments about the current problems in WWE creative right now and how they can’t build new stars.

He says that he failed in management for not getting his superstars on Smackdown Live to the Goldberg level. He says that if Goldberg wins the Royal Rumble this year, you can see him in the main event of Wrestlemania. Daniel wants people to look at Smackdown LIVE’s roster and be able to see them in the main event of Wrestlemania like they do for the part-time stars.

He says that this current crop of talent in WWE is probably the best that they have ever had. Bryan wants his roster to go and get a Goldberg type of reaction so that they don’t need to bring in part-time guys for Wrestlemania. He wants to see AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose get those Goldberg type reactions each week instead of relying on the other guys to be the stars of the show.

He finished by saying:

“I don’t think that is the fault of the talent, I think that is the fault of me for not getting them to that spot”

Bryan refers to himself as ‘management’, but he has no real pull behind-the-scenes. This is basically a big shot at WWE for not being able to create new stars and relying on part time guys. Bryan keeps it kayfabe by blaming himself. Talking Smack is very entertaining television each week for stuff like this!

  1. I agree with what he says. Bringing in part timers should only make the ratings go through the roof, where as the show without them should be setting the roof on fire every Tuesday. The bookings is where it’s at. How you book your stars. Bray Wyatt has the top dog talent and fan base but they feel like he’s not lone wolf material. Speaking of lobe wolf, baron corbin is definitely top dog worthy, but they barely use him, and when he’s used it’s against people like kalisto, wtf?
