6) Arn Anderson On Mr. Perfect’s Talent & Humor
In an interview after the passing of Mr. Perfect, Arn Anderson had nothing but good things to say about him inside and out of the ring. The two of them shared a locker room for a number of years and were able to get to know each other very well.
Arn spoke about how special Curt was inside of the ring (hear the full tribute on pandemoniumradio.com):
“The first time I got to see Curt live was his first go-around in WWE. Being a guy whose not really easily impressed — I’ve seen so many great athletes, great workers and big stars over the years — Curt was one of those guys who grabbed you right away. He was special. Everything he did was different than everybody else. I would venture to say that up until that time, the matches he had with Bret Hart were the most awe-inspiring things I had seen. It was just incredible because it was completely different”
Arn also spoke about his humor outside of the ring. Mr. Perfect was legendary for his backstage pranks:

“The ring style that Curt brought every single night was the same dressing-room style, which is different too. He could light up a room. The end result was whatever he said was funny as hell. Curt could make you laugh at yourself, and before the joke was done, you would be laughing at him”
Arn on no-one ever being like Curt Hennig:
“No one else will be like Curt Hennig, (and) no one has ever been like Curt Hennig. From the first time I met him, Curt was just special. There’s no other adjective I can use to describe him. If anyone is ever compared to Curt Hennig — in the dressing room or in the ring — it’d be a hell of a compliment.”
Some high praise from Arn.
5) Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltman On His Hero, Mr. Perfect
Sean Waltman was a young and up-and-comer when Mr. Perfect was at his peak in the WWE. Being a good friend of Scott Hall (who was mentored by Hennig), he learned a lot of lessons from Mr. Perfect over the years.
In an interview on the anniversary of Hennig’s death, Waltman spoke about the influence that he had on him as a mentor (hear the full tribute on pandemoniumradio.com)
“He was mentor along the likes that you just don’t find them in our industry. He was so selfless and so giving of the knowledge that was given to him that he actually instilled in me. It was my duty to pass that knowledge along to the next generation. There’s a lot of things I wouldn’t have today if it wasn’t for Curt Hennig. And he taught so many people…The Kliq, in general, Scott [Hall], Shawn Michaels… guys like that those were all guys that were inspired and mentored by Curt as well. He was a hero of mine. As an adult, he was my hero.”
The lessons were not just about things inside of the ring. Waltman also spoke about what Curt taught him about being a father:
“Curt always told the guys, ‘I don’t care how f—— tired you are, when you get home, you’ve got to be there for your kids. He was ‘Super Dad,’ and he learned from the best. Curt looked up to and loved his dad more than anyone I’ve ever known–what an amazing father-son relationship”
Gives you an insight into how great of a mentor Mr. Perfect was to the younger talent.
