A person in a mask appeared during the MKE Wrestling event on Friday night. Many fans think that the masked wrestler may have been CM Punk. It sounds outlandish at first but let’s take a look at the evidence.
Here is the video that started everything. MKE Wrestling posted a video that features a man in a mask hitting a ‘GTS’:
Now, let’s take a look at some of the evidence that it could be Punk. First, a photo is making the rounds of Punk wearing the exact same outfit as the masked wrestler. The photo is from a BJJ tournament that happened a few hours prior (and in the same area):
Plus, there is this Tweet from Silas Young, who founded MKE Wrestling. He teased that “a Punk who showed up in a mask last night”.
Finally, let’s take a look at some comments from CM Punk back in 2016. He was asked on ESPN’s Russillo & Kanell Show if he would ever return to wrestling. Here is what he said:
But you never know, I could pop up here and there. Let me explain that to you even better… it’s not going to even be televised, it’s going to be me in a ninja f–king outfit wrestling one of my buddies and nobody’s ever going to know. It’s going to be very ‘Monty Python’ so to speak.”
That is a whole lot of evidence that it could be Punk. Draw your own conclusions though.
