Cageside Seats recently did an article on the wrestlers that have competed in the most consecutive Pay-Per-View events for WWE. The rules that they conducted were that the match had to have been on the main card of a Pay-Per-View (pre-show matches don’t count). Also, if someone is on RAW, the Smackdown Live exclusive events don’t count against them (and vise versa).
Their data revealed a very lengthy streak of Charlotte’ Flair’s that came to an end at Summerslam.
Charlotte wasn’t involved in the Smackdown Women’s title plans for the event. Also, with the recent hospitalization of her father: Ric Flair, it eliminated any possibility of WWE using her in a kickoff show match (if they even had plans to do so).
Prior to Summerslam, Charlotte had competed in 24 consecutive Pay-Per-View events for WWE. She had wrestled on the main card of every event that she had been eligible for since she made her debut at Battleground 2015.
Pretty impressive and unfortunately, it comes to an end with her absence at Summerslam. Still, goes to show you her consistency over the past few years.
24 was NOT the highest active streak in WWE. That title belongs to Kevin Owens, who after Summerslam has been on the main card of 28 straight events that he has been eligible for! Trailing behind him is AJ Styles, whose number is at 19 after Summerslam.
A pretty interesting stat and sad to see it come to an end.
