At the WWE Fastlane PPV, Charlotte Flair was defeated by Bayley. Not only did Charlotte lose out on reclaiming the RAW Women’s Championship, her undefeated PPV streak was broken. This came as a shock to many fans who expected her to win.
Charlotte had accumulated 16 victories at PPV events (without a loss) since making her debut on WWE’s main roster. It was an impressive feat that WWE hyped every chance they had. That is why it was strange that the company chose to end it a month before Wrestlemania.
So how does Charlotte feel about the streak ending?
“Two ways to look at it. Well, when I started people started being like ‘you have a pay-per-view streak going on’, I’m like ‘what?’ I was 16-0 which was weird, cause, I, it became 16, it was 16-0 then (John) Cena won the 16 time… I, no, I don’t think they put anything into (that), there was no thought put into that. … No, but I was just, I kept racking up numbers. I’m like ‘well, you have a pay-per-view streak.’ So because I didn’t really think about it, I didn’t… it was more of a statistic than a story”

She continued, saying that she hopes fans remember Bayley breaking the streak more than the streak itself:
“When it happened… I just hope the equity of that went to Bayley. I hope that’s grasped. More of like ‘damn, that hugging lovable girl just ended that.’ If viewers think of it… I really didn’t think of it. I was more like ‘god, I’m so stressed.’ I had to be that on every month, you know? But, yeah, I can’t… it is what it is.”
