Bret Hart on the Damien Sandow Release. (Link to video if not working on mobile)
Bret Hart and Damien Sandow crossed paths back in 2014 when Sandow interrupted Bret on RAW in Montreal as Damien ‘SandHart’. Bret ended up punching Sandow, knocking him out of the ring in a fun little segment. Sandow was known for his impressions and characters during his time with the WWE including Macho Man Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, Vince McMahon and many more. On the most recent episode of the Sharpshooter Show hosted by WrestleZone, Bret spoke about the release of Sandow and what his possible post-WWE options are:

“I was surprised. I liked him as a character. I thought he always worked hard. He was always a good guy to me whenever I met him. He always seemed enthusiastic and got a good reaction when he went out there to do his thing. At the same time, it doesn’t surprise me. There’s quite a few more guys I thought would have been sacked. He’s maybe the biggest one that is the biggest shocker. It’s too bad. Like a lot of guys, they’ve got to start a whole new life. There’s not that many places to go anymore. There’s no WCW. TNA is hardly worth wasting your time. He’s a talented guy. He should regroup kind of like Harry, Bulldog’s kid. He regrouped and has now made a pretty good name for himself in Japan. That might be the next step for him. I would look at it like when you get sacked it’s not impossible to come back at the right time under the right circumstances. He was always professional and he carried himself well. He seemed like a smart enough guy that he cannot just make it in wrestling. He can make it probably outside wrestling if he wants to” (Source: The Sharpshooter Show).
Sandow has shown his acting chops with his Mizdow character and his impersonations. I would like to see him try his luck at acting! If not, I agree with Bret and he should go to another company and kill it. He already has a large fan following and is very talented. Let us know what you think of Bret’s comments!
I could definitely see him in A Midsummer Night’s Dream or Much Ado About Nothing, could go down the Christian route e.g. join other company, return after a few years, win a world title. Well, I can dream.
