The 2019 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony featured an unfortunate incident. Bret Hart was attacked by a fan during his speech. Fan footage showed that multiple people jumped in right away to protect Bret. That included Ronda Rousey’s husband and UFC Fighter Travis Browne, who got a few good shots in on the guy.
Luckily, Bret was able to finish his speech. It was reported afterward that he went to the hospital for some discomfort in his hip.
The attacker was revealed to be an amatuer MMA fighter named Zach Madsen. He was charged with assault and criminal trespassing for the incident.
According to the New York Post, he was held on $1,500 bond. He issued his first comments about why he did it while in court on Sunday. Here is what he said:
“I just felt like it was the right moment”
According to 1011 NOW in Nebraska, Madsen is currently out on bond and is pleading not guilty on all charges against him.
We will let you know if we hear anything more.
