As noted prior, TNA is currently having some money issues and looking to sell. There has been plenty of speculation over the past couple days that the WWE has placed a bid on the company, in order to secure their tape library. We have another update to the rumors of WWE potentially buying a piece of TNA.
Jim Ross on the most recent episode of his podcast: The Ross Report, appears to have fueled the fire a bit more. He says that WWE is buying TNA’s tape library but not the promotion itself. Here is what he said:
“The other rumor is that WWE is allegedly very close to buying the TNA library, not the promotion, the TNA library. Obviously with WWE Network, the TNA library could be a nice resource, a nice asset. TNA does have some talent that I’m sure WWE would like to have somewhere down the road but the WWE and TNA have had talks regarding the WWE buying the library and that deal is imminent” (Source: The Ross Report).
He says that this is a rumor and not confirmed but the sources telling him are ‘very reliable’.

It was recently reported that Dixie Carter would not in fact sell to the WWE but this could be the compromise they need. Get some cash for the tape library and start their company fresh, possibly with a new name and look.
