James Ellsworth has been a fixture on Smackdown LIVE over the past several weeks. He started with two big matches (and wins) against AJ Styles. He is now the Team Smackdown LIVE mascot for the traditional elimination match at Survivor Series on Sunday.
There still has been many questions if Ellsworth was signing a full-time WWE deal or not. It wasn’t clear if they were just using him for the time being or if he had a future with the company.
Ellsworth posted on his Facebook page on Thursday, announcing that he is no longer taking any independent dates. This indicates that he has signed a deal with WWE and will be with the company exclusively moving forward.

Congratulations to James Ellsworth. I know a lot of fans have gotten sick of him but I think there is a future for him with the company in a comedy type role. WWE can also use him as a permanent jobber on live events. I think it is smart that they are keeping him around.

I cant believe how people can be sick of him. He’s purely a comedy act and is on WWE to make us fans laugh.
Some of the faces he makes are priceless and have me in tears every week.

No need to make comparisons. Honestly, i wasnt watching wrestling whenever Hornswoggle was around. I’ve literally never seen him in the ring so i cant make that opinion.

If Hornswoggle came in as a jobber and won the hearts of the wwe universe to where he was having them chant his name like goldbergs…. And skyrocketed to the main event picture where he was doing superkicks to the heavyweight champion…. Then yes, James Ellsworth, is like Hornswoggle.
But if he wasnt doing that, then NO, he’s not the next Hornswoggle.
“won the hearts” … by looking weird? he’s making a living off the fact that he’s strange looking and the crowd is pandering to him. there’s nothing special about him.
its like electing 300 pound bertha as prom queen as a joke.
but hey, good on him for making some money off it.
