The Big Show Talks About How Wrestling Helped Him Through Personal Tragedy

The Big Show recently spoke with Shanghai Daily in order to promote the WWE’s upcoming tour in China. During the interview he spoke on a wide variety of topics. One of these topics was how wrestling helped him heal his soul after personal tragedy struck him. Pretty awesome story that you might not know about the 7 foot giant!

Here is what he said:

“I went through a really bad period in my life as a young man in my 20s. I lost my father and my grandfather to cancer … in the same year. For me, it was a very tough year emotionally. I quit school. I did odd jobs, sold cars, ran karaoke shows and answered phones. It was funny at that time because I didn’t know if I’d be any good at wrestling. I didn’t know if I’d be any good at being a superstar. I just thought it was really cool and I’d make a little bit of money out of it. I didn’t realize until after I really got into the business, met all the guys in the locker room, and went up and down the road, that I found something that was going to heal my soul and complete my life and make me understand why I was put on this planet and what I was meant to do” (Source: Shanghai Daily).

A pretty great feel-good story! He also spoke about facing Shaq at Wrestlemania 33 and many other topics.

I really wonder how many years the Big Show has left in the WWE. He has been doing this for a number of years and I think the light may be at the end of the tunnel for him soon. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
