We decided to compile a list of the best Money in the Bank matches. We have used ratings from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter as our guide. A reminder as always that if a match is rated higher for you, that is okay. We have only included the matches that have received 4 stars or above.

Rob Van Dam vs Bobby Lashley vs Finlay vs Matt Hardy vs Ric Flair vs Shelton Benjamin
Event: Wrestlemania 22 (2006) | Rating: 4 stars
This was the second ever Money in the Bank ladder match. It took place at Wrestlemania 22. The match featured some wild moments, including Ric Flair taking some big bumps at his age.
The match was eventually won by Rob Van Dam. Van Dam would go on to cash in the contract on John Cena to win the WWE Title.
Kane vs Christian vs Cody Rhodes vs Dolph Ziggler vs Drew McIntyre vs Kofi Kingston vs Matt Hardy vs The Big Show
Event: Money In The Bank (2010) | Rating: 4 stars
Both ladder matches from 2010 have made this list. The first opened the PPV and was for a World Heavyweight Championship contract.
Kane won the briefcase after hitting Drew McIntyre with a chokeslam off the ladder. Later on the same night, Kane cashed in on Rey Mysterio to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
The Miz vs Chris Jericho vs Edge vs Evan Bourne vs John Morrison vs Mark Henry vs Randy Orton vs Ted DiBiase Jr
Event: Money In The Bank (2010) | Rating: 4 stars
The second Money in the Bank ladder match in 2010 was for a WWE Championship contract. The Miz won the briefcase after pushing Randy Orton off the ladder.
Several months later, the Miz cashed in on Orton to become the WWE Champion.
Daniel Bryan vs Cody Rhodes vs Heath Slater vs Justin Gabriel vs Kane, Sheamus vs Sin Cara vs Wade Barrett
Event: Money In The Bank (2011) | Rating: 4 stars
The only ladder match from 2011 that makes this list was the one for a World Heavyweight Championship contract. After about 25 minutes, Daniel Bryan went on to win the briefcase after knocking Wade Barrett off the ladder.
Bryan later cashed in on Mark Henry to become World Heavyweight Champion.
Dolph Ziggler vs Christian vs Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow vs Santino Marella vs Sin Cara vs Tensai vs Tyson Kidd
Event: Money In The Bank (2012) | Rating: 4 stars
The 2012 Money in the Bank PPV featured two ladder matches. The only one that makes this list is the one for the World Heavyweight Championship contract. This match kicked off the show and went for about 18 minutes.
Dolph Ziggler went on to win the ladder match. Months later, he cashed in on Alberto Del Rio to become World Heavyweight Champion.
Ember Moon vs. Charlotte vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Lana vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks
Event: Money In The Bank (2018) | Rating: 4 stars
The 2018 Money in the Bank PPV featured the second-ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
Alexa Bliss went on to win the briefcase. She cashed in later in the same night on Nia Jax to become the new RAW Women’s Champion.

Mr. Kennedy vs CM Punk vs Edge vs Finlay vs Jeff Hardy vs King Booker vs Matt Hardy vs Randy Orton
Event: Wrestlemania 23 (2007) | Rating: 4.25 Stars
The opening match of Wrestlemania 23 was the Money in the Bank ladder match. This was a fun match with some pretty legendary names involved.
Mr. Kennedy ended up winning the briefcase. He ended up losing his briefcase to Edge though and never became WWE Champion.
Dean Ambrose vs Chris Jericho vs Sami Zayn vs Cesaro vs Alberto Del Rio vs Kevin Owens
Event: Money In The Bank (2016) | Rating: 4.25 Stars
Dean Ambrose won the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2016. This came after he knocked Kevin Owens off the ladder while they were trading shots.
Ambrose cashed in later that same night. After Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns to become the new WWE Champion, Dean cashed in to take the belt. As a result, all 3 members of the Shield were WWE Champion at some point during the same night.
Braun Strowman vs. Finn Balor vs. The Miz vs. Rusev vs. Bobby Roode vs. Kevin Owens vs. Kofi vs. Samoa Joe
Event: Money In The Bank (2018) | Rating: 4.25 Stars
This ended up being the main event of the Money in the Bank PPV in 2018. There were some fun moments with a solid mixture of talent.
Braun Strowman would go on to win the briefcase but didn’t become Champion. He cashed in on Roman Reigns but the match ended in disqualification due to interference from Brock Lesnar.

Edge vs Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho vs Christian vs Kane vs Shelton Benjamin
Event: Wrestlemania 21 (2005) | Rating: 4.5 Stars
This was the first Money in the Bank ladder match ever. It turned out to be a great match, with a lot of great moments.
Edge would go on to win and would later cash-in on John Cena to become WWE Champion.
Randy Orton vs C. M. Punk vs Christian vs Daniel Bryan vs Rob Van Dam vs Sheamus
Event: Money In The Bank (2013) | Rating: 4.5 Stars
The main event of the Money in the Bank PPV in 2013 was the ladder match for the WWE Title contract.
Randy Orton would go on to win the match. He would cash-in on Daniel Bryan at Summerslam 2013 to win the Title.
Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose vs Rob Van Dam vs Kofi Kingston vs Dolph Ziggler vs Jack Swagger
Event: Money In The Bank (2014) | Rating: 4.5 Stars
This match was a lot of fun. The match was highlighted by some big spots but also some great stuff between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.
Seth would go on to win the briefcase and we all know what happened at Wrestlemania 31.
Baron Corbin vs AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Dolph Ziggler vs Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn
Event: Money In The Bank (2017) | Rating: 4.5 Stars
The 2017 Money in the Bank PPV featured a fun ladder match. The highlight of the match for many fans was the battle between Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles. The crowd was pretty electric when they stared each other down and started brawling.
Baron Corbin would go on to win the briefcase. He later failed his cash-in after being distracted by John Cena.

Event: WWE Money In The Bank (2019) | Rating: 4.5 Stars
If I had to describe the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match in one word, it would probably be ‘Wild’. There were so many great moments during this match and it was like watching a car crash.
Brock Lesnar ended up showing up at the very end to win the briefcase. Even if you disliked the ending, we have to acknowledge that this was a really fun match.

The 2021 ladder match featured Ricochet vs John Morrison vs Matt Riddle vs Drew McIntyre vs Big E vs Kevin Owens vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Seth Rollins.
Big E ended up winning in what was an excellent match.
